Goji berry juice
The Goji Berry, also known as the Chinese Wolfberry, is grown in the Ningxia and Xinjiang regions of Northwest China, where a bowl of fresh Goji berries every day is an accepted part of life. The people of these provinces have known of the amazing secrets of the berry for thousands of years, and it is honoured by local farmers in a two-week festival every year. There is even a statue honouring the young women who harvest the berries. The people of this area typically live up to between 120 and 150 years of age. Goji berry juice is one of the three wolfberry products now available in South Africa. Our Goji berry juice is completely pure, each Kg of juice coming from 4½ Kgs fresh berries – it is not mixed with apple, pear or grape juice like so many other juices in the country.
Goji Health’s Goji berry juice comes from pure sun ripened wolfberries harvested in the Ningxia region, where the weather, the enriched soil and water from the Yellow River make for an unusually high quality berry. The juice is exceptionally high in Lycium barbarum polysaccharides, compound polysaccharides comprising six monosaccharide chains (arabinose, rhamnose, xylose, mannose, galactose and glucose) that are linked with polypeptide chains.
These constituents in our Goji berry juice have been shown to have a remarkable effect in enhancing the immune system, the treatments including cancer prevention, normalizing blood pressure, balancing blood sugar levels anti-inflamatory and as a neuroprotective agent for retinal ganglion cell degeneration, these among several other treatments. Goji berry juice is now available in selected shops throughout South Africa, and a list of these outlets can be found on our Contact page.
