Cancer nutrition with the Goji Berry

It is of interest to note that a Chinese physician’s handbook written during the Ming dynasty (1368 – 1644 AD) described how the Goji berry, when eaten regularly, “may regulate the flow of vital energy and strengthen the physique, which can lead to longevity.” The Goji berry has been used for centuries in China for a number of ailments including cancer. Nutrition in cancer patients is essential, and the Goji berry is a rich source of cancer fighting vitamins and Lycium Barbarum Polysaccharides (LBP), its main active ingredient.

Much research has been carried out in both China and the United States on the Goji berry and specifically on how it affects cancer cells. LBP has been shown to enhance the production of a crucial cytokine that induces strong anti-tumour responses in a number of different types of cancer. Other studies have shown how the berry inhibits gene mutation. There is absolutely no doubt about the nutrition value of the Goji berry

The Goji berry is rich in vitamins, especially Vitamin C, but also A, B1, B2, B6 and E. Since that for people suffering from cancer nutrition is vital, the vitamins and polysaccharides contained in the berry are all known to control cancer in some way. Studies have shown that Goji berries either inhibit cancer or actually kill cancer cells. Tests have shown an amazing regression of cancers of a number of different types in patients who have taken Goji nutrition alongside the drug LAK/IL-2 .

Goji berries also contain traces of selenium and germanium, elements used in cancer therapy. The therapeutic dosage of Goji is between 10 and 30 grams a day and they may be taken in any form.
