Himalayan Berries
Magical Himalayan Berries
Himalayan Berries are known by many names, including Goji Berry, Tibetan Goji Berry, Lycium Fruit, Chinese Wolfberry, Mede Berry, Matrimony Vine, Chinese Boxthorn, Red Medlar and Happy Berry. Traditionally from the Ningxia Province of China, these curative berries are also found in the sheltered valleys of the Himalayas in Tibet, as well as in Mongolia.
Ancient Chinese medical literature lauds Himalayan Berries for their ability to strengthen the eyes, liver and kidneys, as well as fortify the ‘qi’ (or ‘chi’) which is known to be the life force of all living beings. This was demonstrated by Ben Cao Gang Mu who had written his physician’s handbook during the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1368-1644). Herein he stated that the regular use of this tiny berry can lead to longevity as it not only helps to regulate the body’s flow of vital energy, but also to strengthen the physique.
